How to travel from Bali to Gili Trawangan?

The quickest way to get from South Bali to Gili Trawangan is a fast boat departure from Padang Bai to Gili T. This route is perfect for people staying in Jimbaran, Kuta, Seminyak, Sanur and Denpasar. It's also suitable for Airport arrivals or those staying in central Bali areas such as Ubud and Padang Bai. The crossing time is just 1,5hrs from Padang Bai to Gili Trawangan.
From South Bali, Serangan harbour, there is an island hopper option. This route goes from Serangan to Gili Trawangan via Lembongan and/or Penida (minimum 1 night stay). This is perfect for anyone looking to spend a night (or several) on Nusa Lembongan or Nusa Penida before heading over to Gili Trawangan.
From Padang Bai there is another option, the public slow ferry. This very cheap but rather uncomfortable trip from Padang Bai to Lembar, located in the south of Lombok, takes approx. 6hrs and from Lembar it is another 2hrs to get to Gili Trawangan.
The shortest route is only recommended for people who are staying in North Bali around Amed/Tulamben. From here you can simply take a fastboat with Freebird Express from Amed to Gili Trawangan which only takes 1 hr.

How to travel from Ubud to Gili Trawangan?

How to travel from Nusa Lembongan to Gili Trawangan?

They use ship to shore transfers to a floating pontoon between Nusa Lembongan, Ceningan and Penida as due to the low tides their large fast boat can't get ditrectly onto the beach. These transfers are included in the ticket price and their boat sails via Padang Bai to Gili Trawangan.
If you're starting on Bali we would recommend booking an island hopping ticket from Bali to Gili Trawangan with a hop off on Nusa Lembongan as this is cheaper than buying separate tickets.
How to travel from Nusa Penida to Gili Trawangan?
Eka Jaya provides a daily fast boat from Nusa Penida to Gili Trawangan via Padang Bai. A transfer from Nusa Penida to the floating pontoon between Nusa Lembongan and Ceningan is included in the ticket price as their large fast boat can't get close enough to shore for pick-up due to the tides.
