For travellers wishing to stop off at Lembongan or Nusa Penida on their way to/from the Gili Islands or Lombok, travelling with Eka Jaya is ideal. You could book a ticket from Bali to Nusa Lembongan or Nusa Penida and add a ticket from Nusa Lembongan or Nusa Penida to the Gili Islands or Lombok.
You can either depart from Serangan in south Bali in the morning or Padang Bai in the afternoon and hop off on Nusa Lembongan or Nusa Penida for a night or a few days before continuing to the Gili Islands.
The crossing from Serangan to Nusa Penida or Lembongan only takes about 1 hour, and the crossing from Padang Bai to Nusa Penida or Lembongan takes about 30 minutes. The boat docks at Banjar Nyuh Harbour on Nusa Penida, and at the Yellow Bridge on Lembongan. It will take about 3h30 to continue to the Gilis islands as the boat sails via Senggigi and Padang Bai. Starting from the 15 of December 2023, the boat will no longer stop in Senggigi. So the crossing will take 3 hours.
Of course, you can also decide to travel to the Gilis or Lombok first, and stop in Nusa Penida or Lembongan on your way back to Bali. The boat departs from the Gilis around mid-day. The crossing to Penida and Lembongan takes about 5 hours as the boat sails via Bangsal, Senggigi and Padang Bai. Starting from the 15 of December 2023, the boat will no longer stop in Senggigi. So the crossing will take 4 hours. After spending a night or a few days on Nusa Penida or Lembongan, you can head back to Bali. Eka Jaya have a morning departure back to Padang Bai and an afternoon departure back to Serangan. The crossing is about 30 minutes to Padang Bai and 45 minutes to Serangan.
