Gangga Express has been operating this route since 2013 and is the only operator running from Tri Bhuwana Port in Kusamba. The crossing to Sampalan takes around 15 minutes, making it one of the shortest fast boat routes from Bali to Nusa Penida.

Nine daily departures run between 6:30 AM and 5:00 PM, giving plenty of flexibility for day trips or longer stays.

Boats have no air-conditioning. Port taxes are not included in the ticket price and are paid in cash at the harbour. Check in at least 30 minutes before your departure.

How to get to Tri Bhuwana Port, Kusamba

Tri Bhuwana Port sits just outside Kusamba village on the east coast of Bali, a short distance from Padang Bai.
 
There are no land transfers offered by Gangga Express, so you will need to arrange your own transport to the port.
 
  • From Ubud: Around 45 to 60 minutes by car. One of the most convenient departure points for Nusa Penida from this area.
     
  • From Padang Bai: Around 15 to 20 minutes. The two ports are very close, and Kusamba is a good alternative if Padang Bai is busy.
     
  • From Candidasa: Around  30 to 35 minutes by car.
     
  • From Kuta, Seminyak or Canggu: Around 1.5 to 2 hours. Travellers based in south Bali may find it more practical to depart from Sanur instead.
     
  • From Ngurah Rai Airport: Around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic.
